9 Miles for Sierra Leone - Virtual Run/Walk

From 22nd-29th May 2019, I will be in Sierra Leone to complete a Marathon in 30 degree heat and 90% humidity.  I will be taking part to support a wonderful charity called Street Child, who believe that EVERY child deserves the chance of an education.  Sadly, 121 million school-aged children are currently out of education world-wide.  Street Child aim to change that, by building schools, funding education, training teachers and many other projects.

My full story and reasons for going to Sierra Leone, can be found on my fundraising page here -

As part of my quest to raise at least £1000 for Street Child, I have created a Virtual run/jog/walk (entirely up to you).  THERE ARE ONLY 100 PLACES UP FOR GRABS!

You will have from 1st May at 6am, to 31st May at 6pm, to complete your 9 miles.  You can do it all in one go, or over several days and everyone is welcome to take part.  To thank you for your support, you will receive your bespoke 60mm Medal, in the shape of Sierra Leone and with the colours of the Sierra Leone flag on the ribbon.  It really is a FABULOUS medal!  I hope to recieve the medals and begin sending them out, from the middle of May onwards.

Every penny raised (minus the purchase cost of medals and postage) will go to Street Child UK, I will not make any profit from this event.

I really appreciate your support and will be sure to let the children we visit in Sierra Leone, know just how amazing you have all been!

Pre-Event Information:
Event rules:

Your 9 miles can be completed at any time, between 1st May - 31st May 2019.

You can complete it all in one go, or over as many days as you need.

Once you've completed your 9 miles, please send *proof (garmin/strava etc) along with your preferred postal address by email to - forsierraleone@outlook.com (*this event is purely for charity, if you don't use garmin/strava etc, I'll take your word for it).

I'm going to create an A4 printable sheet to send out to entrants, it would be great if you could get a selfie with one too!  If I get enough photos I will create some collage posters, to give to the children in Sierra Leone and show them your incredible support!
